The conventional hay barns aren't the only way to preserve hay at low expense. These covers are probably successful in this climate which usually has low rainfall.

The hints of green weeds amid the taller tan crops point to the end of the growing season. These impromptu sheds are not the most photogenic structures but the overall scene has a nice rustic mood.
