Coastal Mood

Posted by
Don (Spokane, United States) on 6 January 2013 in Landscape & Rural.

A collected driftwood adds to the interest of this Pacific coast beach. I liked the shot for the fading of the off-shore rocks and subtle coloring of the sky.
The couple help with understanding the scale.

Those are some gargantuan rocks!

That certainly is some driftwood. The Pacific is amazing to look at, but also quite treacherous. Can you imagine being in a pleasure boat and colliding with one of those floating trees?

This place looks truly giant, unless... they are very, very tiny ! :-)

Oooh now you've gone and done it! I love this. Moody indeed, and the textures are great. I'm not sure of the perspective which makes it even more mysterious. Love the graduated misty layers. Those shockingly tiny figures in red & blue just make this a jaw dropper. 5 stars from me.

The rocks make a strong image. The two persons, especially those in the red jacket, invigorate the overall view.

Your comments cover everything I was going to say I like. The bright garb makes this almost appear selectively desaturated, but the deep green on the hillside seems to indicate that nature, not photoshop, removed the color.
