Salina's Sunflower

Posted by
Don (Spokane, United States) on 13 August 2012 in Plant & Nature.

The next door neighbor's sunflower. She gave me permission to take some pictures which I took this morning. I like this one with the leaf because It had a carport background which was uninteresting, but one I could easily darken. This makes the blossom look unreal, and produces a windmill-like image that I like. I hope Salaina likes it and you too! :-)

It really does look like a windmill, even with the little guide-thingy at the back (a very technical term, I know). ;-) Lovely shot.

Yes - windmill is an excellent comparison. The bright bloom works, as does the delicale leaf and the "hairy" stem. Good job darkening the background without introducing any artifacts.
