A barn with an impressive roof. It seems that most viewers like the bottom part with the wood textures better than the newer roof. Click here for a sunrise view of this barn. I post a barn shot each Tuesday to support Barn Charm.
Yup, that roof should hold everything together for a while !

quelle ferme quelle forme ce toit sueprbe cpatage et iamge dans la campagne

I prefer the rustic walls, hopefully the roof will weather in !

I love the roof, but also love the weathered wood...and that is a gigantic opening for the size of the barn!

A piecemeal renovation.

log cabin - ish ... like the roof sloop. (:

Das wird noch einige Jahre halten. Don, dann eine Aufnahme kurz vor dem Zerfall.
Die mit dem Sonnenaufgang sieht sehr gut aus.

well the roof does appear to be the newest thing on the barn but i prefer the pretty old wood to the new roof!

Nice one. I do remember this tall carn, and this is another good shot of it.

Un toit en état, mais ne va pas avec la texture du bois vieilli...
Une forme de grange très agréable... )
10 Jul 2012 12:37pm
wow! sure hope they give the rest of it some care!

That is impressive. Very expensive roof job on a tumble down barn. Goofy. Maybe the family business is roofs.

The next best thing to a good foundation is the roof, I suppose. Great barn find!
10 Jul 2012 2:26pm
It seems to me the roof is kind of out of place. The roof itself is great, but not on the barn. I guess if it will help and keep the barn up, then it would be okay. Great shot Don !

& very good roof :)
10 Jul 2012 3:32pm
Nice rural image - the barn is great and the roof seems kind of odd for it.

Believe me when I say that I'm glad they've added the new roof, but yes, the dark barn wood is AWESOME! I love it best... better than red barns & white barns or any other color... the dark barn wood is best & most appealing, to my eyes! LoL! =)
Thanks so much, Don =)))

I like both aspects of this old barn, actually. Their is a good contrast of materials, different eras, and the obvious care going into putting on a long lasting new roof that will help extend the lifespan of the weathered old structure beneath it. A fine find and photo!

I'm glad it has a good roof, but I agree with your other readers in liking the wood better than the metal!

Interesting roof structure of this old barn !!! and I agree with others, I prefer the look of the wooden walls ..
10 Jul 2012 6:35pm
Charming barn with the dark wood planking; the sunrise photo is beautiful too! Great photo!
10 Jul 2012 6:41pm
i think the roof is the beginning of a major renovation for that barn.
10 Jul 2012 8:24pm
New roof on old barn but you remain dry
well seen Don
10 Jul 2012 9:35pm
neat shape. both versions have their charm
10 Jul 2012 10:10pm
The roof is good, but maybe they should begin repairing the wood :0
Interesting..but for me not the winning queen of beauty :)
10 Jul 2012 10:32pm
It looks like the roof may be holding the rest of the barn together. : )
10 Jul 2012 10:52pm
Another great barn shot.
10 Jul 2012 11:26pm
Both shots are terrific, of this wonderful barn ... I love that roofline!
10 Jul 2012 11:45pm
That is a beautiful barn. I love the shape. Great shot!

I would assume this indicates a metal roof will out live a structure itself. Just replaced the roof on my house and garages and the cost was extreme or should I say through the roof. Excellent capture of this old country barn and roof, don!

A beautiful barn with a new roof. Nice composition. I like the form. Excellent. :)
11 Jul 2012 9:45am
A beautiful roof, indeed. Of course I also think the rest of the barn has more charm.
11 Jul 2012 7:59pm
it looks really tall, i wonder why.. nice capture though.. :)
12 Jul 2012 9:17pm
Quite a contrast. Maybe the next project is the lower part.
14 Jul 2012 8:44pm
one must respect the new here as it protects the old !!
