Uses of Columbines: "The flowers of various species of Colombine were consumed in moderation by Native Americans as a condiment with other fresh greens, and are reported to be very sweet, and safe if consumed in small quantities. The plant's seeds and roots are highly poisonous however, and contain cardiogenic toxins. The medical use of this plant is better avoided due to its high toxicity; columbine poisonings may be fatal." I hope someday to be able to take this quality of photo. Far in future! Is this an example of bokeh? I've tried this with my point and shoot Canon x130 but not successful--did achieve some unexpected results that pleased me.

A wonderful little "alien" creature. The design variety of planet Earth staggers the mind.

Amazing color and detail. I like how the DoF separates the subject from the still colorful background.

Hi, Don. I'm your neighbor now! I've finally moved to Aminus3 (but I'm also posting to my other site for awhile longer). About Columbines...I don't think I'll be putting them in my salads. Very pretty though. A nice photo.
