Don - Slackwater (
I liked this Iris shot for the varied colors and the green that other green plants cast on its petals. They appear to be at the peak of their bloom right now. "It takes its name from the Greek word for a rainbow, referring to the wide variety of flower colors found among the many species." Wikipedia

LOVE THIS IMAGE!!! You have truly captured the beauty of this Iris. I recently posted a series on what I called Rainbow of Iris on my other photo blog. I especially like how the light is shining behind that front purple petal.

Gorgeous color - the backlight makes the petals translucent. The bokeh behind it couldn't be better - even the darkest areas have black-on-black texture.
