The Open Road

On our trip to Okanogan/Omak, we drove across wheatlands, scabland with outcroppings of lava, and mountains along the Columbia River. This documentary shot shows a typical highway across the grain growing region west of Spokane. Looking down the road, you can see Wilbur on the horizon. The lack of traffic on these roads made the drive seem very long. One-way was 140 miles (225K).
