Country Home

I took an alternate route home yesterday and drove by this home in an area of larger lots and acreages. I thought the two dishes detracted from the otherwise pristine look of this large home. The road there is a rather steep hilly drive on gravel and could be an interesting factor in a winter with more snow.

A impressive place, good for them!

Nice looking house. The dishes don't seem to bad to me compared to some of the eyesores that are put on houses nowadays !

The architecture reminds me of the Mediterranean, perhaps the owners have Spanish or Italian influences

yep, it's a big-en, i live in a small cottage, 2 bedrooms, i look at this a think about the amount of cleaning, something i'm not very good at :-)

5 Jan 2012 12:22pm

@peter.K: I live in an apartment and that's enough to clean!

tanya from Troutville, United States

it's a beautiful home, much bigger than i would need though! yeah, i don't care for the dishes on it either.

That's a rather LARGE on family home! I thought it was an apt building... 10 families could live there! WoW!
I have a small 900 sq ft home! LoL! =0

Think of how many different views of the landscape this family enjoys! Lucky, hard working group no doubt!

It looks very well designed and built, with generous land to enjoy. I agree about the dishes but they fade into the structure compared to its scale. Nice find, Don.

Belle et grande maison ... un style sympa et profite de belles vues.

It's a beauty, but I wouldn't want to roof it! But aren't tile roofs supposed to last forever??? Seems like someone told me they would last and last.

This is a great capture, Don.
I hope they have live-in help for the cleaning, but someone pulling in big $$$s for the heating and air-conditioning expenses!

Somebody has to be rich to live in a rambling mansion lie this one. It reminds me of the homes in Palm Beach. We were townies so lived in normal houses but there sure were lots and RICH folk who lived in places like this. The 2 dishes are a bit tacky if you ask me. genie

I agree that the red and green shrubs would look great above snow. You think the owner refers to this as his country get-away?
