An early morning drive-by shot with the warm sunlight giving this farm a special glow. I wonder how many years will go by before we replace this current technology with something a bit less ugly. Yes, I use my cell phone as we drive along! :-)
New and little older side by side. Photo is really fine.

The tower is probably a great source of income for them.

Great capture, Don.)

lovely morning light Don.
I suspect we will cease to notice them, like TV aerials, satellite dishes, pylons and all those other ugly additions to our landscape.

i love the combination of the blue roofs and red walls

Bel effet de couleurs...
Ces tours poussent partout !... ))

Lovely light indeed, and I agree with you about the tower... I always think the same thing when I see those ugly monster hydro towers running along a landscape.

Wunderbar im Licht.

wow. rather sad. i sure hope they got paid a lot for the rights to erect that fugly thing there!
12 Nov 2011 3:13pm
I love the lighting hitting the sides of the barn and other outbuildings.
12 Nov 2011 3:46pm
wonderful early morning light and mood ... and this tower is still better than a dirt-bleching smokestack, i think!

Beautiful light on this early morning

Beautiful colors as the old photos. Great composition.

Great capture of technology creeping in on the farm landscape. Great drive-by shot!

No more wind mills… :-(

Such gorgeous color and light in this scene and image. Lovely!

What is wrong with this picture? Nice juxtaposition.

Funny, Don, I think about the same thing with the ugly towers everywhere. Here in Maine, they have some that they have tried to disguise as huge pine trees that still stick out like a sore thumb and look hideous!
13 Nov 2011 12:06am
I guess people have become so tied to cell phones that there is no going back now even though I wish we could.
13 Nov 2011 5:02am
Gorgeous light falling on the red face of the buildings. Sometimes I dispair of ever seeing a wide angle view without a cell tower, though of course you have included this one intentionally.
13 Nov 2011 4:14pm
yep, it's the classic compromise of our times: we want to use the cellphones everywhere but also want beautiful, untouched landscape :)
14 Nov 2011 1:01pm
In some cities cell towers must be disguised. I saw one in Las Vegas, as I recall, that was disguised, more or less convincingly, as a palm tree.

Lovely farm. Yes, we pay for our technology with ugly structures. The ones that bother me the most are power and cable along roads and streets.
