Patched Barn

Posted by
Don (Spokane, United States) on 6 September 2011 in Landscape & Rural.

A drive-by shot of a repair barn at caught my eye. Not as sharp as I would prefer since we were driving and a hard wind was blowing, but I liked the different openings in the barn and thought them a bit unusual. Every Tuesday I post a barn shot to support Barn Charm. Check it out for many other old barns.

great capture! Looks like they need to be doing a few more repairs.

Good morning Don,
The barn has received fairly well. Nevertheless, they must be rehabilitated. It would be a shame if the barn collapses at some point. I love the bright stones of the walls and the wooden roof. Despite the obstacles in the passenger seat while driving, I like the photo. An interesting discovery. Here is the outside temperature cooled down a bit. A stronger wind is blowing in between. I'm fine. Thanks for the e-mail yesterday. It pleased me very much. Have a nice sunny day, all the best and health, incl. your famliy and friends.
Dear greetings from Christel, Detlev and Ranger. Take care, my friend.

A 'hard wind' is the last thing that ol'barn could do with on a September morning . . but what a beauty it still is.

Interesting texture to it too Don and it almost seems to have reverse perspective.

It seems to be sagging in it's old age. I know the feeling...

I always wonder about the openings...glad someone else does, too. These really are unusual...I like the shot even if it isn't as sharp as yours usually are.

Lovely barn. It looks almost as if the repairs are adding to weight of collapse.

This almost has a wavy look to it...which adds to the charm. Great find Don!

this is a unique one, in its warped and patche up way! a barn that could tell stories - if it could!

It looks like it needs a big hug, or some handiwork TLC, but still retains its history and charm and dignity. The distortions of drive-by shooting often add an interesting effect, I find. If you crank your shutter up to 1/4000th, you might find quite a few sharp results as long as the light is strong.

Definitely a keeper, Don. Explore, all I wanna do is explore these old barns... I, too, find the different openings interesting. Sure looks like an old one! =)

Thank you for joining

Doesn't look like it's seen a whole lot of care over the years, but it's got charm for sure! Great photo, Don. :)

They don't believe in replacing anything, just patch it up. Another great shot for your collection.

Yes...it looks like some of the windows were after thoughts, because of their different sizes....
Interesting barn again with the little cover over the hay loft window.... :)
