A flower-type display in a recessed nook in a friend's house. This "flower nook" is such a nice place to shoot because of the way the light bounces from the walls on the display. I also like the near white walls as a background. Several during the day have asked whether it is a real sunflower or not. It is an imitation made of some kind of cloth.

Like the concept of a "flower nook", we don't have anything similar in our architecture.

The texture of the wall adds a lot, as well. This shot has an almost surreal feeling that I like a lot.

Good evening, Don
The niche and the white wall as a background motif are well chosen for this decoration. The vase and the two decorative birds harmonize in color, very nice to each other. The small tablecloth color harmonizes beautifully with the inner rim of the flower. The red petals are unusual for a sunflower, but it suits me very well. This flower never wilts, and will always remain a beautiful sight. I give you 5 stars***** for this beautiful picture and the decoration. The image including the decoration, I like personally very well. I have a blue rose for many years as a decoration in a blue vase. Even my Rose will never fade. Today I'm late. Everything was very turbulent but successful. Today's sunset was very beautiful. More on the weekend. Have a nice evening and all the best including your family and friends. Take care, my friend.
Dear greetings Christel and Detlev

A genetically modified sunflower? Or a surrealistic one? I do prefer the second option!

is that a real flower or fake one? lovely flower regardless and peaceful display.

4 Nov 2010 8:18pm

@Otto K.: It's a look-alike made out of some kind of cloth.

Wim van der Meij from Zutphen, Netherlands

I too was wondering if this is a fake flower. Nice color though.
