I'm including this shot because it shows the extreme depth of the lava deposits that covered much of eastern Washington long before the floods carved the dry falls. This shot was taken a few miles below the dry falls of yesterday's picture. Sun Lakes State Park nearby is a 4,027-acre (1,630 ha) camping park with 73,640 feet (22.45 km) of freshwater shoreline at the foot of Dry Falls, which is located near Coulee City, Washington. Recreation opportunities include fishing, swimming, boating, hiking, horse rentals, and a golf course.
