Clematis is a genus of about 300 species within the buttercup family. Most species are known as clematis in English, while some are also known as traveller's joy, old man's beard, leather flower, vase vine and virgin's bower, the last three being names used for North American species.Wikipedia

Good morning Don,
There are beautiful Clematis. This clematis I had many years ago in my garden. As a former owner of the garden and gardener, in my garden, I have gained much knowledge about it. Clematis need very much sun and in winter they must be well covered at the root, in order to be protected from frost. You can also multiply Clematis from your own tribe. I tried it then and it worked. It is nice to have a garden. You are the man with the green thumb. So we call a person in our region, which has a beautiful garden. For this beautiful picture, I'll give you 10 stars ********** and more. Thanks for the e-mail. We enjoy it. Answer was this morning. Have a nice day and all the best. Dear greetings Christel and Detlev

I love gardening, but don't know any of the official flower or plant names. I know Buttercup and Daisy, lol, but that's it. These Clematis are quite lovely.

Very nice; I like the way you have captured the delicate folds and wrinkles in the petals.

clematis are my favourite climbing flower. I can hardly wait until retirement so I can grow them (we're moving to a warmer climate). I'm wondering if this is Nelly Moser? Such a lush offering they are giving up.

@Diane Schuller: These flowers were at an orchard's display and sales site. I have no idea as to the specific name.
Wow, a beautiful shot of these flowers. I love the crisp detail and how the cascade down the picture in your composition.
