
My friend, David, pointed out this growth of blue bells the other morning. They are known as blue bells, hare bell, bluebell of Scotland. Another old name is Witches’ Thimble. Nat’l Audubon Society book.

Now I would have said they were 'Canterbury Bells'. Witches Thimble is a good one though. So it goes :) Nice light on the bells.

Wonderful composition so close to the flowers in this tall frame. It really underscores the height of these blue bells. I love the color here and the deep contrast and tones.

I love the Christmas tree effect that this photo has - little ones at the top - different stages of bloom - and the big wonderful bells at the bottom - and the others plants on the sides.

I have known them as hare bells in the mountains in Colorado, usually growing near streams. Great shot.

Nice color and detail, but perhaps a little busy with the almost "W" composition of the three plants.
