Anise hyssop, a perennial that is native to North America. Because it is as lovely as it is aromatic, this herb is also often grown in flower gardens, where it makes a very attractive background plant. It attracts honey bees and is a source of nectar for butterflies. Aroma and flavor are an intriguing mix of anise and mint.
I love how the background went completely black while the subject is perfectly lit. Nice!

Good morning Don,
it is a very interesting looking plant that you have shown beautiful. The reproduction is clear, natural, and brilliant. The information is also very interesting. Anise is known to me as sweet and therefore I can mentally, imagine the scent of the plant. Mint is known to me as a tea drink. Thus, combining the scents, thought in my mind. For this beautiful picture, I give you 5 stars ***** seems this morning the sun and it is pleasantly warm. I think it will be another beautiful day. Have a nice day and all the best. Thanks for your nice comment yesterday and the 5 stars. Dear greetings Christel

The bright green of the featured foiliage is set off nicely with the hints of red in the smaller leaves and the tiny purple bloom. The subdued background makes the subject really stand out.

Thanks for telling us about Anise. I didn't know what it looks like let alone all the information you told us. Super interesting! It almost looks like a coleus. Very beautifully captured.
