Bozarth's Retreat Center

It's Saturday and it would not be unusual for a wedding to occur today at this site across from my home. Gonzaga University's Bozarth Mansion and Retreat Center, sits on approximately nine acres. The 23 room mansion and a number of smaller buildings were included in the 1960 purchase price of $85,000. The mansion, which was designed by famed architect Kirkland K. Cutter, was constructed at a cost of approximately $100,000 in 1911-1913.

It's interesting to think that this belongs to Gonzaga.

Good morning Don,
They have it so fantastic and beautifully photographed that it gives the impression on the spot to stand to go through the open gate. The general view is very noble, harmonious and very well maintained. The houses are like half-timbered buildings in modern design. The color reproduction is excellent, and individual details are clearly visible. For that I give you 5 stars ***** This morning it looks as if it has rained at night. Let's see how the weather will be tomorrow. More this evening in an email. I wish you a nice sunny weekend, and all the best. Dear greetings Christel

@Rose: Me too Rose. They protest the place and admit only legitimate event visitors. I was in this house once many years ago.

Very distinguished looking complex. I wish I had been around in 1960 to offer them $86,000, I bet its worth many millions today.

A very pleasant looking place to have in your neighborhood as long as it doesn't generate too much traffic. Nice shot.

Why don't you offer them $100,000 and they will have a nice little profit.

Considering the build cost, $80,000 fifty years later seems a bit of a snip even in the sixties, but I suppose that depends on the condition of the building at that time.
