A drive by shot of an unusual farm home site. I couldn't believe the combination of logs and lumber used in the attempt to build this place.
Impressive group of buildings!

Good morning Don,
it is indeed a sad and strange sights and interesting discovery. Home sweet home is also known to me as saying. Perhaps the rubble, at some point, rebuilt in order to use them. The reproduction of the presentation is excellent and color, clear and brilliant. This morning, the exterior is clear, cool air, the sky gray and hazy vision of the Seven Mountains. The sun comes out slowly. I think today is a beautiful, warm day. I wish you a beautiful sunny day and all the best. Dear greetings Christel

This really makes a landscape statement and y'cannot help but wonder about the history of it, the people who toiled there working to a plan.

More beautiful colours Don. A lovely combination of buildings nestling in the hillside. What development potential you have round there:)

Sure is some interesting construction material and technique, here, the cloudy sky adds a nice mood t this

Most often on farms you use what's available. Or as in most cases you reuse materials until they are worn out, then you used them a little more. A beautiful shot and I'm sure many a story could be told here.

A great old farm site. Love all the old buildings.
15 Jun 2010 3:42pm
It looks like many places around here. 150 years of improvements.
15 Jun 2010 3:43pm
The lost farm. Beautiful nature shot - and yes - so many types of building materials.
15 Jun 2010 3:52pm
A fine collection of old time buildings. The log walls still look pretty sturdy. Nice shot with the greens and cloudy sky.
15 Jun 2010 4:15pm
At one time it was. Your photo is fantastic. The color is wonderfully saturated.
15 Jun 2010 4:21pm
And you have to wonder, "What went wrong?"
15 Jun 2010 4:31pm
Amazing diagonal composition..beautiful lightness..Bravo!
15 Jun 2010 4:48pm
I like the lush green beneath the looming sky. The low clouds add to the feeling of gloom about the homestead. This is much more interesting on a hillside that it would have been on flat land.
15 Jun 2010 6:38pm
Bucolique à souhait !
15 Jun 2010 7:39pm
Love the contrast between earth and sky, lovely green colors
15 Jun 2010 7:43pm
At some point it must have been. It's kind of sad to see the decay but it's a beautiful picture.

We have a lot of home attempts around here too. People start homes with different materials and either never finish or finish with a completely different product. ....often looking like tar paper shacks that you wonder how they will make it through the winter..... :(
A beautiful photograph here, well tallied, beautiful whole of house, well with you.Don

Beautiful composition and despite the destruction of houses - a charming place ...
16 Jun 2010 7:53am
Great shot. Buildings could be on their way up or down. Wonderful greens and a dramatic sky above.
16 Jun 2010 12:16pm
