Sometimes there is a scene that has no particular subject but the light. shapes and forms grab your senses. This icy lake was such a scene. I hope you like it as much as I did standing there imagining how it would appear in a print.
Wow, I loved opening your blog and having this photo greet me. It is wonderful.

Light, shapes, and forms is enough of a subject for me. Textures, too, in this one. Looks great in print.

The open water really makes wonderful designs. Super processing, Don.
3 Feb 2010 6:24pm
That's ice? I wouldn't have guessed it other than the water in the background looks more like actual water than the foreground. And I know what you mean by 'sometimes there is a scene that has no particular subject', that's part of the challenge, though, for me, when I'm trying to present my pics in the best possible way I can. LoL!
Thanks again for my strange request from yesterday. I kinda went overboard & applied that color to too many 'accents', then took a look at it last night & had to make changes. Sometimes I get carried away. I really like the colors I have now, so I'm gonna try to stop making so many changes to my blog & just leave it the way it is. LoL!

Outstanding, Don. Superb monochrome.

Good evening, Don,
I am excited about this scene. This broad view of the ice lake is fantastic and breathtaking. I let my imagination run wild ........ The color selection is appropriate and gives the overall view of a stylish expression. For that I give you 5 stars ***** <<Here today seemed a little sun and it was dry. Nothing special happened, and it was a pleasant day. Soon we could all enjoy the beautiful warm days again. Oh, it
occurs to me that this afternoon to 17 clock was a little more brightly. So the days are now longer and more beautiful ...... The birds are singing and even in between.
I wish you and your family a wonderful evening and thank you for your nice comment.
Dear greetings Christel

Beautiful arrangement of shapes. best...jerry

B&W makes it just right. Don was that a complete heart in the water?
3 Feb 2010 9:40pm
I agree with you Don, sometimes it's just there with no great explanation behind it. Breaking it down, for me, it's the illumination on the ice, the texture there, the dark landforms.. it's very contrasty.. very simple and easy on the eyes.
