A reprocess of a picture taken at my friend's house on a very frosty morning. The sun was cutting across the deck on one side and the yard showing up vaguely on the other. I liked the crisp look of the board and tried to capture its quality.
The frost almost looks like a sandy dessert, it creates a great allusion!

You have done well to capture the crisp qualities of the frost, as well as the patterns cast by the light.

Good afternoon Don,
this presentation is great. The frozen structures are very well expressed. The color reproduction is brilliant. For that I give you 5 stars *****
here the snow has melted since yesterday afternoon. Today is raining and snowing in between. It's all gray and does not look good. I'm waiting for the next snowfall, which may not be absent. I am glad, though, the
coming of spring. I wish you a nice day and thank you for your nice comments and fidelity.
Dear greetings Christel

Superb detail. It has a very 3 dimensional effect with the frost and the highlights.

I was trying to work out exactly what it was without reading your title and words, Don, and my mind was saying a cross section of a park bench..... What an eye for the shot. Superb

A feeling of fantastic depth to the wood grain. It really could be an exotic landscape of terraced rice fields. Well shot.

Amazing...would never have guessed what it was.

30 Jan 2010 6:47am
Excellent abstraction of this wintery element. The far right line of frost seems to drift into a blue fringe, though, especially in the lower third.
30 Jan 2010 6:55pm
like two eyes watching
