Tiny Columbine

Some pre-school youngsters came to my door selling flowers.... picked flowers! I felt badly that the blossoms had been removed, but I selected one for 25 cents. To maximize its shortened life, I put it in a tiny dish of water and resolved to take its picture. It's about 2.5 inches across (6.35c). Later I noticed my bleeding heart was missing a number of blossoms too! Kids will be kids! No, I didn't buy my own blossoms back! :-)

Gee sounds like some entrepreneurial con artists being raised in the neighbourhood :)
I likely would have bought one too -- such a shame for such a pretty thing to be left in some child's paws!
