The clarity and detail and “shading” in this image is wonderful. It also contains terrific contrasts in light and subject where the steam has a dark and heavy background to accentuate its light and billowy form. The ground also has a lot of interest and detail – so well done Don!

Cool, where was this taken? Theres been a documentary on Yellowstone broadcast recently over her, I was mesmerised both as a geologist and as an apsiring photographer!

I like the quality of the b&w image - a lot of details at the dark trees and at the smoke - the scenery is very well framed and captured

excellent detail and fine composition capturing this. Great detail in the trees & soil so I'm going out on a limb to say I think this is another of your scanned film/slide images. I spent half a day at Yellowstone and was in awe the entire time.
