A drive-by shot on a pass in the Cascade Mountains. This mountain range forms a barrier between the dry side of the Washington state (where I live) and the wet side where Seattle and Puget Sound are found. The passes are always interesting - beautiful in the summertime, a challenge in the winter and once in a while closed by avalanche. My daughter and I were on our way to Port Townsend when I took this shot. Port Townsend is a ferry ride and about 60 miles (80k) northwest of Seattle.
