Lubrication

Posted by Don (Spokane, United States) on 21 July 2012 in Documentary & Street.

On a trip west, we drove by this abandoned building. I like the old paint and textures, but it wasn't until I was processing that I could make out the old sign above the doors: lubrication.

Even the echoes of the Past feel to have faded away here . . while the Future gets on with it far left . . like a long timeline.

Some of us can remember when businesses like this were new and prosperous. Wouldn't you like to visit the past for a week or two? I know I would.

Nicely done old commercial building. I can't read "Lubrication" at this resolution, though I can see enough of it to trust your word for it.

I like the color and textures. It reminds me of a similar building in the small town where my dad grew up in Missouri. Great capture!

This image illustrates the old adage that "Life goes on." I'm sure there is a story behind this old building, and it's probably not a happy one. Good capture with plenty of realism.

Great old building, maybe someone will give it a little love and it will come back.

I do love all the different textures...but such a shame to see a building like this standing empty. And even wonder if it is worth anything now. Seems like buildings/machinery really go downhill fast when not used.
