Grain Elevator

Posted by Don (Spokane, United States) on 5 July 2012 in Landscape & Rural.

An elevator in eastern Washington. I liked the light falling on the metal structure producing a bright glow. A shot on film with a red filter to darken the sky.

What a strange moiré pattern emerges from that siding . . was that recorded on the film or created in the scan, I wonder ?

5 Jul 2012 6:39am

@Ronnie 2¢: It was shot on film and then scanned. I didn't have time to find the negative and do another scan. I think the moire pattern developed in the scan.

Excellent B&W of this agri-industrial structure. The sky shows signs of real film grain. The access road is well placed in the frame to lead.
