Market Girls

Posted by Don (Spokane, United States) on 29 December 2010 in People & Portrait.

I decided to post this substandard scan because of the two girls in this Patzcauro, Mexico open air market place during a drenching rainstorm. The individual vendor's stalls have roofs, but the walkway is open to the sky. I liked how the water was running off of the girl's foot. So i post this shot for the overall mood of the image, and how it reminds me of teaching a quarter in Mexico.

Good evening Don,
It seems as if both girls enjoy the rain. The girl right in the picture looks a bit spooky and is also shown interest. I see how the water runs over the foot. The general view is interesting. It looks like behind a window. I like your picture. The snow melts on our balcony, and everywhere. The snow cake on the table is smaller. The outside temperature is 3.9 degrees Celsius plus. Today I made a long walk with rangers. He is learning every day about big dogs and play with them. I will caress Ranger, for you. Thank you for your nice comment. E-mail may follow tomorrow.Have a nice time and all the best including your family and friends.
Dear greetings Christel, Detlev and Ranger.

The best thing about it is the raw (so called) substandard look. I LOVE IT! The first thing I thought of was Lewis Hine. Not a copy of his work but just the feeling. The straight on gaze really made me think of http://www.clintonfein.com/images/pieces/trodd-lewis-hine-01.jpg
