Spring Runoff

Posted by Don (spokane, United States) on 20 November 2009 in Documentary & Street and Portfolio.

The Spokane River and this bridge are a block from downtown Spokane. Originally the city was called Spokane Falls, a name I wish the citizens had kept. In the spring the water volume increases to an impressive state. I was able to take a picture of two during one of those periods. A scanned medium format negative.

Adrian from Vancouver, Canada

The light hitting the water really highlights the powerful force of the river.

Christel from Köln, Germany

Good evening, Don,
this shot I was very impressed. One feels at the sight of the raging force of water. I do not want to know how many people have drowned in it already. Nobody comes out here again. The elements of nature are very powerful. People can barely climb. Natural disasters always happen again. But the man himself is sometimes to blame for these disasters. The nature everyone should try to respect and not abuse it. I think we need
nature to live and survive. I like your shots very well. I wish you all good luck and health. I visit your blog very much. I also thank you for the nice comment on my web page. Dear greetings Christel
